Parramatta Square

Parramatta Square is one of the largest civic spaces in the southern hemisphere and the new heart of Sydney’s second CBD. A Signature Pinwheel Paving Pattern

The square is paved in a distinctive interlocking pinwheel pattern of large-format granite, creating a dynamic geometric field that reads beautifully across an enormous open plaza. A flamed, anti-slip finish ensures safe footing for the thousands who cross the square each day, while the granite’s density handles the wear of a major event space.

Engraved Cultural Inlays

Set into the paving are bespoke engraved stone inlays — including the “Burramatta Nura” artwork that respects songlines through Country — combining cut lettering, bronze elements and figurative motifs. Producing these required precise CNC engraving and inlay work so the cultural narrative sits flush and durable within the everyday walking surface.

Consistency Across a Vast Surface

Delivering granite at this scale demands rigorous quality control. Consistent block selection, calibrated thickness and full dry-lay verification before shipment ensured colour and pattern continuity across the entire square, with every piece numbered to its location so installation across the huge site stayed coordinated.
