The square is paved in a distinctive interlocking pinwheel pattern of large-format granite, creating a dynamic geometric field that reads beautifully across an enormous open plaza. A flamed, anti-slip finish ensures safe footing for the thousands who cross the square each day, while the granite’s density handles the wear of a major event space.
Engraved Cultural Inlays
Set into the paving are bespoke engraved stone inlays — including the “Burramatta Nura” artwork that respects songlines through Country — combining cut lettering, bronze elements and figurative motifs.
