A landmark hospitality project in Singapore's central business district, the Icon Hotel was finished throughout with natural marble supplied and quality-controlled by Sun Young Stone. We provided light Sandalwood Light marble (also known as White Wood Vein marble) for the lift-lobby wall cladding, dark Tundra Grey Turkish marble for the lobby and guest-corridor floors, and Black Galaxy granite for the pool coping — each batch dry-laid and inspected in our own factory before shipment to Singapore.

From Our Factory Floor to a Singapore Hotel
Every marble surface at the Icon Hotel in Singapore was produced and quality-checked in our own factory before shipment. Below, see the stone installed across the hotel — lift lobbies, corridors and the grand lobby — followed by the real production and quality-control work behind it: slab drying, calibrated sizing, edge and thickness gauging and flatness checks. Two marbles were supplied: the light Sandalwood Light (White Wood Vein) marble for the wall cladding and the dark Tundra Grey Turkish marble for the floors, with Black Galaxy granite for the pool coping.
Installed at the Icon Hotel, Singapore
The finished marble in place across the hotel — Sandalwood Light wood-vein marble wall cladding, Tundra Grey Turkish marble floors in the lobbies and corridors, and Black Galaxy granite pool coping.

Sandalwood Light / White Wood Marble — Production & Quality Control
The light Sandalwood Light marble (also sold as White Wood or Grey Wood Vein marble), laid out flat for drying and checked piece by piece for calibrated size, edge squareness and surface flatness before crating.

Tundra Grey Turkish Marble — Production & Quality Control
The dark Tundra Grey Turkish marble, produced and inspected to the same standard — dry-laid for drying, then checked for size, squareness, thickness and a consistent polished finish.

A full-building marble fit-out for a Singapore hotel
The Icon Hotel required a coordinated palette of natural stone across its public and guest areas: a warm, wood-grained marble to clad the lift lobbies and feature walls, a durable grey marble for the heavily used lobby and corridor floors, and a hard-wearing, slip-resistant granite for the pool surround. We supplied all three from a single source, keeping colour, veining and finish consistent across the entire building.
The stones we supplied
For the vertical surfaces we used Sandalwood Light marble — a soft, straight-grained white-and-grey wood-vein marble (also sold as White Wood or Grey Wood Vein marble) — book-matched across the lift-lobby walls. For the floors we supplied Tundra Grey, a Turkish grey marble valued for its cloudy grey tone and excellent durability under hotel footfall. The pool edge was finished in flamed Black Galaxy granite for permanent slip resistance. Every tile was calibrated, polished and checked before it left the factory.
Why hotels choose Sun Young Stone
Hospitality projects demand consistent material across large areas, tight tolerances for fast installation, and finishes that survive constant use and cleaning. Our team dry-lays each order flat in the factory, matches tone and vein direction, gauges size and thickness, checks flatness, then numbers and crates the stone for the installer. The production gallery below shows that real quality-control work behind the Icon Hotel — the same process we run for marble and granite hotel projects worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions
What marble was used at the Icon Hotel in Singapore?
Sun Young Stone supplied Sandalwood Light marble (also known as White Wood Vein marble) for the lift-lobby and feature-wall cladding, Tundra Grey Turkish marble for the lobby and corridor floors, and Black Galaxy granite for the pool coping.
What is Sandalwood Light / White Wood marble?
Sandalwood Light is a soft white-and-grey marble with a fine, straight wood-grain vein. It is also sold as White Wood Vein or Grey Wood Vein marble and is popular for elegant wall cladding and feature walls.
Is Tundra Grey suitable for high-traffic hotel floors?
Yes. Tundra Grey is a Turkish grey marble valued for its consistent cloudy-grey tone and durability. When calibrated, polished and properly sealed it performs well across lobbies and corridors with constant footfall.
Can you supply matched marble for a complete hotel project?
Yes. We regularly supply coordinated marble and granite packages for hotels and hospitality projects — wall cladding, flooring, countertops, pool coping and more — colour-batched and dry-laid in our own factory so the whole building stays consistent. Send us your drawings or BOQ for a quotation.
