From Quarry Block to Installed Façade — Fully Documented
Every carved limestone element for the SHK. Al-Hukair Private Palace was produced and inspected under a single, traceable workflow. Before a single block was cut we carved 1:2 approval samples directly from the client drawings; during production each stage — blocking, cutting, profiling, hand carving, dimension control and polishing — was photographed and signed off; and every finished product was checked against its drawing before packing and shipment to Saudi Arabia. This is the same documented quality control we provide on every palace, villa and hospitality project.

Pre-Order Sample Approval
Drawing matched to carved stone, 1:2 scale
Before the contract was awarded we selected the most representative profiles from the bill of quantities and hand-carved them in natural limestone at 1:2 scale. Each physical sample was placed beside its technical drawing so the client could verify the exact profile, radius and proportion. This drawing-to-stone proof is what gave the client the confidence to place the order.

Production & In-Process Quality Control
Block selection through to polishing
Production follows a fixed sequence with a quality checkpoint at every stage. We start by matching quarry blocks to the approved control sample, cut slabs and blanks, profile and hand-carve the classical detailing, verify every dimension against the drawings, then polish to the specified finish.
Stage 1 — Blocks & Sample Match
Incoming quarry blocks are inspected and matched against the approved control sample so colour and grain stay consistent across the entire façade.
Stage 2 — Slabs & Cutting
Blocks are sawn into slabs and blanks sized to each element, maximising sound material and isolating any natural flaws before fabrication.
Stage 3 — Profiling & Hand Carving
Profiles are machined on moulding lines, then skilled masons hand-carve the curved and ornamental sections that machines cannot reach.
Stage 4 — Dimension Check
Every profile, length and joint is measured against the shop drawings, so pieces assemble cleanly on site with consistent joint widths.
Stage 5 — Polishing & Finishing
Curved and straight elements are ground and polished to the specified finish, with surfaces and arrises checked under raking light before approval.
Finished Product Inspection
Every element checked before packing
Completed elements are laid out, numbered and inspected by type before crating. The Al-Hukair Palace required a full classical vocabulary in limestone — base stones, running mouldings, keystones, window surrounds, cornices, arched window cladding and turned balusters — all produced and verified in-house.

Running cornice and band mouldings, finished and sorted by profile ready for façade assembly.

Window Surrounds
Full window surrounds dry-assembled flat in the workshop to confirm fit before they ever reach site.
Cornice & Curved Profiles
Curved cornice and crown sections produced to radius and wrapped, ready to follow the building’s sweeping lines.
Arched Window Cladding
Radiused voussoir cladding for the arched windows, thickness-checked and numbered so each piece returns to its exact position.
Balusters
Turned limestone balusters produced in volume to a consistent profile for the palace balustrades and terraces.

Limestone is the material of choice for grand classical façades thanks to its warm tone and excellent carving properties. A Grand Entrance Staircase
The palace’s arrival is anchored by a wide carved staircase flanked by balustrades and ornamental newel posts. Each tread, riser and baluster was machined and hand-finished for consistency, then dry-assembled to confirm the elegant sweep before delivery.
Durable Stone for Demanding Climates
Exterior stone in the Gulf must withstand intense sun and temperature swings. We selected dense, weather-resistant limestone and applied appropriate finishes and treatments so the façade retains its colour and detail for decades, with minimal maintenance.
